China Glaze Vintage Vixen collection

I recently picked up some of China Glaze's new Vintage Vixen collection, and I'm pretty happy with most of what I got.  Tonight I'm going to focus on four of the colors I purchased, saving the other five for later tomorrow.

Here are bottle pics for three of the four I'm tentatively reviewing tonight:

On my thumb is Riveter Rouge, a reference to Rosie the Riveter.  I'll be reviewing it tomorrow, so focus on the three bottles for now! :P  From your left, you're looking at Swing Baby (934), Jitterbug (941), and Bogie (937.)

Swing Baby is a reference to either swing music or dancing.  Or both!  As far as music goes, as moving and fun as Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing" is, I think I prefer the awesomely hummable (and trust me, I do hum or whistle this song with alarming regularity) Glenn Miller's "In The Mood".  But both are superb choices!  Oh wait, nail polish!  I'd describe Swing Baby as a medium beige gold with heavy lighter shimmer.  Hopefully in the picture above, you can see the difference between shimmer color and base color near the sunlit part of the bottle.  I did two coats, but I feel like it was still a little sheer after that.  I'd recommend three if you're going for opacity.

Jitterbug can apparently refer to a dance or a dancer!  (Are we human, or are we dancer?)  Jitterbug the polish is a dark gray with heavy silver shimmer.  Jitterbug, despite being similar in finish to Swing Baby, is more opaque and I like it just fine at two coats.

Bogie is a reference to Humphrey Bogart, who starred in films such as "Casablanca" and "The Maltese Falcon."  He and his wife, Lauren Bacall, were known as Bogie and Bacall. :)  Bogie looks like a muted dark plum with silver and aqua shimmer that you can see is there, but you just don't know what color it is.  I settled on aqua and silver, but I could be wrong.  I spent two minutes staring at the bottle, then realized that I could just try to take good pictures so you guys could judge for yourself.  If I could ever take a picture that was in focus. ;)

I didn't include a bottle picture for Midnight Mission, and I'm not sure what they're referencing there.  Maybe "Casablanca"?  I haven't seen it.  (Ingrid Bergman is in "Casablanca," and she also has her own polish in this collection.  But I didn't purchase her. :P)  I got Midnight Mission in a six-pack of polish called "Cat's Meow."  Love the name!  I'd call Midnight Mission a dark blue with heavy silver shimmer and maybe maybe some lighter blue shimmer, too.

Here's flash under GE Reveal bulbs (ignore my naked pinkie!) with two coats of polish on the other four fingers:

Here's fading sunlight:

Vintage Vixen is China Glaze's Fall/Winter 2010 collection... I think.  I can't remember if they have different Fall and Winter collections.  I know they're doing a Halloween collection, a Breast Cancer Awareness set, and a holiday collection.  So is this Fall/Winter or just plain Fall?  You tell me- clearly I have no clue! :D  I will have five more colors coming later today, so stay tuned if you're interested. ;D
