Honest Babes

While trying to make my list for the in store and online Sephora Friends and Family sale, I've trawled through more products than I care to count. In case it might be helpful, I'm providing some links and a little commentary here in case you don't feel like going through and looking for all the nail polish items on Sephora. The Hello Kitty collection is now in store with its very own section.  I'm not going to lie- I keep eyeing the shower cap for some reason.  Hey, it's practical, right?!   I did pick up some items, like a set of decals, four nail polishes and the Apple Balm.  The Modern Icons decals is the set I bought.  I thought the Rhinestone Flowers set was underwhelming for the price, since you might be able to get more rhinestones for the same price elsewhere.  The Lace set didn't seem to have any perforations and I didn't fancy having to cut them to fit my nails.  It's a good idea; I'm just lazy.  I almost got the Classic Icons set, but I thought the colors were a little washed out for my taste.  They're pretty and kind of reminded me of a Roy Lichtenstein color palette.   I bought the nail polish colors that appealed to me, so not much to say about those.  I did hear that one of the glitters (Pink Sprinkles?) might have a dupe in a cheap drugstore polish, so I suggest doing a Makeupalley Nail Board search if you're interested in saving some money of that one.  I assume that the Charmmy Eyeshadow Sticks are Sephora's answer to MAC's Shadesticks, and I've also heard that the Big Smile Glosses are nice.  The Apple Balm goes on as a kind of unnatural color (and it does look like a cheap drugstore gloss at first), but it quickly warms up on your lips and turns into a pretty color.  It did help soothe my dry lips, plus it's cute, so I had to get it.

I'm not normally a pink person, let alone light pink.  But I am really, really into the light pink from the new Hello Kitty collection.  Bubble Gum is described as "opaque pastel pink," and it is pastel.  I did find that I needed to do three coats, and even then I think I had a few less than opaque spots.  It might have been drag from the brush or me not waiting enough in between coats, though.  I've worn this twice already since I bought it, which is so unlike me!

This retails for US$10, and I'm not sure it's worth that even if I inexplicably really like the color.  The brush stem isn't very long, so I suspect it won't reach all of the polish once you use up most of the bottle.  But the bottle itself is cute and the color is fab in my opinion.

I have an extra set of Katy Perry polishes to give away, so this is what I'm going to do:

• I have all four colors, plus a Black Shatter to give away
• I have an extra Black Shatter to give away
• I have a big set of Sinful brushes to give away
