OPI Softshades collection for 2011 - Femme de Cirque
Feb 20th
I know you're just dying to see the upcoming Softshades collection because you love sheers, right?!
I'm not gonna lie- sometimes I really do love a good sheer. I've been loving them more lately as kind of a palate cleanser after doing super colorful polishes for a while. There are four colors in the Softshades collection this year, three of which are pink (one glitter and two crèmes?) plus one shimmery top coat:
I Juggle...Men (NL F25): Drop everything for this iridescent shimmer coat!
So Many Clowns...So Little Time (NL F26): Make 'em jump through hoops with this glittery sheen.
In the Spot-Light Pink (NL F27): Take center stage with this pretty pop of pink!
Step Right Up! (NL F28): And see the most amazing light pink right before your very eyes!
This year's Softshades collection is supposed to "impart the sweet innocence and irresistible fantasy of an avant-guarde circus." OPI, I love you, but that makes about as much sense as the Photoshop done for the ad.
Two large-ish pictures...Essie's Sweet Time of the Year - Winter 2009 collex
Oct 22nd
Hey babes! I didn't realize that there had been a long gap in my posting, but I have some upcoming posts that I hope you'll like. This post will focus on Essie's Winter 2009 collection called "Sweet Time of the Year." I thought this collection was coming out in early November, but it is for sale on Essie's website already.
There are only three colors in the collection, all crèmes- Lollipop, Rock Candy, and the clear unique winner (in my humble opinion) Mint Candy Apple. Of course, my favorite color is light minty green, so this is a must have color for me! I love how Essie is branching out into more daring, less traditional colors like neons and blues! I love blues!More on the three colors...
CND's Rose Water and Tutu plus Effects
Sep 1st
I've already used CND Rose Water for a manicure, but here's a no basecoat and no topcoat swatch of it with more Effects over it. I'm also including CND Tutu in this post, since it's pink and lighter than the other two colors I'm going to post. One thing I haven't mentioned about the new caps is that the rubber somehow shards off the handle. It ends up on the bottle, the neck of the polish, and occasionally in the bottle itself. Anyway, here's more about Rose Water and Tutu...Read more »
First trial of new CND polishes
Aug 23rd
Since my nails are getting long, I decided to try the only sheer French/American-style sheer CND I bought. Rose Water (#505/Cool/Sheer) looks like the usual milky pink sheer in the bottle. On the nail, it was much more of a hint of tint, a your nails but better healthy shine. I did three coats of Rose Water until I felt it had adequately softened the look of the moons of my nails. My nails looked nice and presentable, but not all that interesting. This is the kind of polish someone might reach for if they needed natural-looking nails that aren't distracting.
But what fun is it if your nails aren't distracting?
